Urban Meadow is proud to serve great fresh food in a fantastic location, nearby Kensington Gardens and opposite Hyde Park, we are an all day dining venue open for stylish farmhouse fare and superb drinks from breakfast through to late night. In addition our spacious patio area provides the perfect calming environment for al-fresco dining.

Wherever possible our food is sourced locally and we have an extensive selection of beers from London Breweries for a true taste of the city. We also offer an array of wines from around the world, fresh juices, a wide selection of teas and freshly made Coffee.

Our menu is designed for you to choose any style of meal at whatever time of day. Our grazing dishes can be sampled as a light snack and can also be eaten tapas style, while our selection of mains and desserts can be enjoyed by those who prefer a multi-course dining experience.

    Afternoon Tea is a meal composed of sandwiches (usually cut delicately into 'fingers'), scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries and cakes. Interestingly, scones were not a common feature of early Afternoon Tea and were only introduced in the twentieth century. Urban Meadow is serving the traditional afternoon tea daily from 12 noon to 6pm.

                  Great afternoon tea. Service almost absent. 30 mins wait for food, with no communication about time involved. Sat at table for 20 minutes with skeleton staff working. In cafe with building work partitions. Poor ambience but great food - salmon bagel, 2 different quiches, cakes, muffins, tarts, scone with jam and cream.

                  I did not stay for the booking. Extremely disappointed at the state of the venue and the poor service. I arrived early to sit and wait, the place was under construction with workmen working on the ceiling and painting where we were supposed to be eating. There was no communication that the place was under construction, as this was an ongoing refurb, which they had notices stuck on the wall. When we arrived there were no staff to greet us at any of the entrances. One of the main entrances is also unsafe for walking, my 79 year mum almost fell existing as the ramp is unsafe. I would not be recommending it to anyone.

                  I had afternoon tea and it was a lovely experience. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The weather was beautiful so I sat outside. The staff was friendly and helpful with everything. The food was delicious. I especially liked the tiny BLT burger and scones.

                  We had been there before and the experience was much better. This time, we waited to be seated and 50mins to be served. The waiter didn't seem enthusiastic.and we were served only blueberry cup cakes for sweets, which neither of us liked. I had vouchers but would been upset should I have paid full price. I don't think we will return.

                  Not a great afternoon tea experience! Dispute the restaurant being quite empty when we arrived, it took over an hour to be served! People who arrived 30 mins after us were prioritised, maybe because they were ordering from the main menu and we had a pre paid voucher for afternoon tea! The afternoon tea its self was really poor. It was clearly rushed and the one bagel that was served was stale. The vegetarian option consisted of chopped up gurkins, tomatoes and cucumber, on half a slice of bagel. The mini muffins were clearly shop bought. There was no loose tea just a standard English breakfast tea, it did not match the menu description provided. Had I paid the full amount per head I would have asked for a refund. There was also not enough staff and the wait times were terrible. I have been to many afternoon teas with pre paid vouchers and they have all been excellent, this was terrible!

                  The afternoon tea itself was nice, although it would have been better if the drinks were refillable. The service was okay; however, there was a strong body odour from one of the servers, which I don’t believe he was aware of. Unfortunately it did dampen the experience while eating. I wouldn’t pay full price for this, so I’m glad I booked using a Wowcher deal.

                  Food and service great , however contractors using power tools ruined the ambiance and contractors sat in the restaurant in Hi Viz work clothes chatting on there phones not acceptable

                  Restaurant didn’t know we were coming, even though they had acknowledged it by e mail. Spent a long time checking our gift voucher. Waited 30 minutes for food and waitress didn’t appear again. They were always polite and the food was lovely and there was much choice.
