Best Fish Restaurants in Douglaston

We got there at 3:30 PM so it was very quiet. It’s considered a late lunch or early dinner time. We were the only ones there and we got individualized detention from our waiter who was really great. The drinks the appetizers and our entrées were all amazing. No one had any complaints if I am ever in the area again I will definitely come back. We were at the Bronx zoo and this was a nice treat to have a Halal steak dinner after all the walking at the zoo. 

Dinner here was a real throwback to the fine, comfortable, welcoming Italian restaurants that my family went to back in the 1960s and 70s. Excellent food, prepared and served to order, is the foundation. Add to that the staff congeniality and knowledge of the menu, and genial welcoming attitude. Mario Lanza, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett playing quietly in the background. A cold antipasto plate with real sharp provolone, generous roasted peppers, olives, prosciutto, salami, frexh mozzarella. I had thought places like this had faded into the past, but our visit to Piccola Bussola was a revelation that all is well with the world.

Had the Delmonico Ribeye medium rare which was actually medium rare. The cucumber and tomato salad was different and very tasty. I had to force myself to stop eating until my steak came out. Our server Brittany was excellent. Friendly, energetic, delightful and knows how to take care of her customers. 5 stars!

I rarely post personal information on Facebook but tonight's culinary experience merits a mention. Dagim Restaurant in Great Neck was the most accommodating and pleasing restaurant I've ever been in. The owner, Tony, and and the hostess (so sorry I forgot your name) couldn't have been more charming, eager to please and in a most lovely environment The restaurant is spacious and elegant without being pretentious. The food was beyond amazing and the service was excellent. I highly recommend Dagim Restaurant in Great Neck. We'll be back!
