At Chez Bruce we are not particularly into gadgets and tricks in the kitchen. Home-made charcuterie, slow cooked braises, offal, warm and cold salads, classical desserts and bread-making could be listed as specialities. The Directors of the restaurant are fanatical wine-lovers and are very proud of the restaurant's wine list which truly is one of the very best in the UK.

    Once again we enjoyed the French Table's delicious tasting menu. Always inventive and interesting. We love the challenge of trying new flavours and discussing how they create the most incredible flavours and presentation of their dishes. The staff are professional and fun. Also, great wine advice! The atmosphere is relaxed. We have no hesitation in recommending the French Table.

    I have eaten at this restaurant on and off for over 30 years. It never fails to impress me and my guests. The food is always of the highest quality ( the cod option in main courses is always hard to resist) and decent in quantity. The wine list excellent at all levels and the staff charming, getting the balance spot on between attentiveness and “ leaving you alone “. Always my restaurant of choice for something special.

    As ever a delicious meal. Each course perfect but the duck was the standout. Duck breast can be so disappointing, not here - absolute perfection. Of course the soufflé was divine. Service the proper balance of friendliness and professionalism.
