Restaurants near Fayette Mall

My wife and I have not been to OBC Kitchen for a few years, which was was an oversight on our part. We arrived, were promptly seated, ordered drinks, and then ordered dinner and sides. Our experience from start to finish was excellent. First, our waiter (Jacob S.) was outstanding. He greeted us at the table and presented us with a tablet which apparently contained their entire offering of food and drinks, which was extraordinarily extensive. He is that perfect type of waiter who magically shows up just when you need something, but otherwise allows guests to dine and chat without interruption. He was also seemed to be a genuinely friendly person, which was much appreciated. Next, we each ordered the Rickhouse Salad with chicken as our main dish. It was phenomenal. I don't think of salads as standout menu items, but somehow OBC took a common mixture of ingredients and turned it into something special. It's rare that I eat a salad and think, "I'd like to have that again soon." But that's what happened. The Papaw's Way smoked Old Fashioned was perfect, the sides were great, and the limoncello tiramisu was delicious (highly recommended). The noise level mixture of music and conversations was high enough that we felt like we weren't in a library, so talking to each other was easy, but it wasn't so loud that we had to raise our voices. The interior decor is very... bourbonesque. I'm not sure how else to describe it, and that should be a compliment. The lighting was also low and warm, which we loved. We don't enjoy dining in places that feel like they have spotlights on us, so OBC got this just right. In fact, that's how I'll end the review. The OBC Kitchen team got everything just right. Will we go back? Yes. Absolutely. Soon.

Carson's on Main has been "go to" place for special occasions for us for many years. Last night did not disappoint as we celebrated two birthdays. The service was exceptional and the food delicious.

My coworkers & I had a fantastic evening. Our server Daniel was amazing! He was knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly & attentive to our needs. The food was fantastic. Unlike anything else I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Lexington.

The food was great. Our server was exceptional. We really like the Father’s Day pint glasses.
