Havana has been committed to serving local and organic meats, produce and seafood since it opened 25 years ago. All of our meats are “naturally raised” meaning no steroids, antibiotics or hormones and “humanely raised” meaning room to roam, proper shelter and gentle handling. We make every effort to buy only sustainably harvested seafood, primarily from the Gulf of Maine. We have consistently searched out New England farmers and fisherfolk to purchase product that is not only great tasting but great for the environment and local economy as well.

The Islesford Dock Restaurant & Gallery is just that - a restaurant and gallery on a dock on Islesford, Little Cranberry Island, Maine. We have a large greenhouse right out back that produces a good amount of our produce, source our lobsters from the fisherman's co-op just next door, and use Gulf of Maine seafood almost exclusively. The menu is rounded out with naturally raised meats and chicken and the service is casual but professional, warm and inviting. Make sure you get out to Islesford Dock while you're here in the area by taking the Beal & Bunker mail boat that makes multiple trips back and forth every day or take one of the several other tour boats out. We are closed Mondays throughout the Summer. Starting in September we will be open for dinner service only, and we are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Season ends October 1st.

In season, our highly rated restaurant serves breakfast and dinner daily. Breakfasts at the Friar are hearty and healthy. Portions are generous and everything is made from scratch right here at the Black Friar Inn. Open to the public, breakfast is served from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. If you are staying at the Inn, your breakfast is included in the room rate.Each afternoon the Friar's Pub opens at 4 pm for happy hour, offering $6 house wine and drafts (Maine selections always on tap) and the company is fine. Settle in after a day in the park in an old-fashioned British pub atmosphere. A full line of spirits, classic and creative cocktails, wines, and craft brews are served.Shareable plates and pub fare, dinner offerings include welsh rarebit, scotch eggs, crab cakes, and much more. The dinner service begins at 4 pm.

    Amazing experience at Reading Room. Everything was first class service. Suzy was outstanding. Recommended the special , lobster and crab stuffed halibut! It was amazing. Husband had surf and turf loved it and really enjoyed dessert blueberry carrot cake / Cheesecake. Well worth the price and piano player just added to the elegant atmosphere.

    We had a great experience at Havana. We loved the dining area where our table was located. Our server, Ale was amazing! She was friendly, helpful and provided perfect recommendations for us. We truly enjoyed every minute while we were there. The lobster paella and lobster moqueca were delicious! The mussels were the best we have tasted! The sommelier was very friendly and helpful, we highly recommend Havana!
