A block from The Bean and the Crown Fountains, Momento brings the energy of Mexico City to Chicago.Founded by two friends from Mexico City, Momento was born from a shared frustration with how Mexican cuisine and Mexican identity are often portrayed abroad: reduced to stereotypes and gimmicks. In the heart of Chicago, they set out to build something different. A home for those far from home and a stage where Mexico could be seen as it truly is: bold, creative, rooted and proudly modern. The space brings together two experiences under one roof: a fast-casual Taquería and a full-service Cantina. Guests can stop in for a quick lunch of Ribeye Tacos, or settle into the Cantina for agave based cocktails, Octopus Tacos and a Signature Abuelita Chocolate Cake that pays tribute to familiar flavors with an elevated touch. Every dish is crafted as a statement against the cheapened, caricatured versions of Mexican food that dominate too many menus around the world. This is our & your Momento

What a perfect meal! My companion and I were both blown away by the quality of the food and the spectacular service. We tipped appropriately and I was looking to add cash tip to the bill as I was leaving and somehow missed my server. If I see him next time, I will add to the tip on that meal, because we were extremely impressed by the attentive service, the lovely atmosphere, and even the lighting! Our food was plated beautifully, tasted divine, and the whole late-lunch experience truly made our day. Thank you!

A wonderful dining experience for our 30th wedding anniversary. Service from Jen was fantastic. Friendly, great suggestions on food and wine and she (and all of the staff) made our evening so memorable. We tried both of their Happy Hour bruschetta varieties and they were fabulous. We had the Fork & Knife Gem Salad - so good and the outstanding Fusilli with seafood. Everything is so shareable and the flavors are amazing. The tiramisu is top notch! Get here early, enjoy a couple of the Happy Hour appetizers/wine and enjoy a lovely experience.
